Why are quilted jackets soo expensive?

I've decided that my next item of clothing that I would like to purchase is a jacket that I can wear both indoors and outdoors... something in-between a cardigan and a coat. I've decided I've liked the look of these quilted jackets yet I am stuck with a problem... They are too expensive! I have had my eye on these two from River Island, but at £50 each and without much money at the moment I highly doubt I shall buy them for now... one can dream though

This one is my favourite as I love the colour and the hood... Hmm I wonder if it's waterproof?

This one is more toned down, I love the collar and the turned up sleeves thought, and I like how many pockets it has!

Do you know any good sights for getting quilted jackets? or have you recently bought a jacket....
