Being mainstream has become indie, you hipster

Jeeez I really have these words.... Lets start with the definitions of each and then I shall go into why I hate them soo very much

Mainstream: The ideas, attitudes, or activities that are regarded as normal or conventional; the dominant trend in opinion, fashion, or the arts.

Indie: Not belonging to or affiliated with a major record company.

Hipster: a slang term that first appeared in the 1940s, and was revived in the 1990s and 2000s often to describe types of young, recently settled urban middle class adults and older teenagers with interests in non-mainstream fashion and culture, particularly alternative music, indie rock,

And this is why I hate these words to the extent where I just get angry if people use them. For a start Indie come from Indie music... Stuff that people haven't heard of. It does not mean Individual and just because you're wearing something from a shop like Topshop or Urban Outfitters does not mean it's indie... It mean you're mainstream. When someone wears vintage stuff that is not Indie either, it's retro or hipster, just because you dress differently it does not make you indie... A guy in drag for instance would not be called indie, he'd be called a drag queen. If you want to be 'totally indie' buy your clothes from unknown labels, charity shops and car boots or make your own clothes.

Mainstream isnt too bad.,, It's just when people confuse this with other things or when people dont like things because they are mainstream. I mean come on guy! Loads of stuff is 'mainstream'  skinny jeans, leggings, Vans, pants, socks, shoes, converse, my point being saying that you dont like something because it's too mainstream is a ridiculous notion as lots of the things are mainstream!

and lastly hipster... I do  love my use of the word 'Hip' and have come to use it a lot... I guess I just dont like this word when people go a bit crazy with it, like wearing a bin bag or things like that because you want to be the first to. I dont hate the word as much as 'Indie' because being a Hipster is an actual dress style.
