Work Work work... but it has its perks

So as many of you may know I work in the Brixham Deli... As much as I may complain it is quite nice in there and we sell lots of lovely food though its all very tempting.

I tend to work alternate Saturdays (Booo give me more hours hoe!) but I've worked three saturdays in a row... Now as we dont open on Sundays it means that I often get to take some lovely treats home and today was no exception! I got to take two coffeee and Walnut cakes home (which are delicious!) we also closed early which is another bonus!

Also check out these awesome wellies I found! They'd be perfect for any festival goer... I'm in the middle of negotiations with my boyfriend Tom over which festival we should go to as a mini holiday!
Is anyone else going to a festival or on holiday? If so where!  (You should really blog about it!)

Things that I am likings, but probably shouldn't splurge out on!

River Island (£40 down to £20 Lots of their jeans are right now!)
Asos £35.... too expensive for now!
Asos £32 (down from £40 Love the back!)
These AMAZING jeans MOTO Top Shop £45
Glittery Red or Green Vans £45

Obviously I would be lucky to get any of this stuff but one can dream... Grand total? £220... Almost half my Bursary... Probably not worth it so I shan't bother! (it's for education anyway)

J.K's writing a new book!

To most people this would be really good news however it is not a Harry Potter book nor is it anything to do with harry potter... This makes me sad. As you may know I am a pretty big fan of Hazza and listen to the audio books (read by stephen fry) a lot... Which reminds me of a time where a teacher at my school was playing the audio books read by someone else and it just sounded horrid! ... so yeah it is exciting that she is finally using her pen again... or should I say laptop... but it will never be as good as Harry lets be honest!

On the note of Harry Potter my Drama teacher made a reference to  the book in class... admittedly it wasn't a very good one, she said 'We need one of those timey things that Hermione had' but non the less it was a reference and It made me feel happy.

A catch up

Well I did not blog yesterday so I thought I would have a catch up blog (not that you've missed much)

So on Monday my aunty and uncle came down and we looked at loads of old family photos which was really sweet... I found this collection of photos which is me from reception up till year 6!
Yesterday was mine and Tom's anniversary! We didnt get to see each other but we had a couple of lovely phone calls and a good long skype sesh!

It's his band's first gig tonight so I want to wish him lots of love and send him plenty of cyber cuddles!

I also made this cool bracelet out of some beads I stole of Lucy... Celeste told me to blog about it because she likes reading my blogs... as does lucy ;)
I also swam 1K yesterday and then did an hour of Aqua-Zumba it was lovely but exhausting!

And today I discovered that I get a bursary after all so soon I shall be rich!  (it's been a  good couple of days)

My new art project!

This is exciting! I have to start a new art project in school so I choose the title (out of a list of 8) Icon.

To give myself inspiration I thought I would start with something to inspire me and one of my I Icons, some one who has been through a lot and still makes silly songs up so my inspiration for this project is going to come from:
My Amazing dad.

More to come for this project!

Best Valentine Post secrets

The weekend

So this weekend I have done lots of wonderful things... apart from work

So on Saturday my dad's first Saturday boy and my first babysitter and his brother came to see us. Now when I was younger he became a family friend and I, reminder I was 2, thought he was my boyfriend. I often talked about 'my boyfriend Jamie' as a little child and this included a little incident in primary school where my teacher thought my baby sitter had 'bad intentions' because of me explaining something badly.

Toby and jamie last remember me and my brothers like this:
So it probably gave them a bit of a shock when we all looked like this:
Anyway It turns out Jamie is engaged... well done I guess, although seeing as we never split up and he was my first life I was distraught... I hope his brother Toby (who reads this sometimes) see's this and tells him.

But actually we had a really nice time and as my mum said 'they have both turned out as good attractive lads'

Later on that night I went to the lovely Toni Harris's party which was wonderful! we all sat around chatting and it was really relaxed, we played a few drinking games, and it was just an awesome time! I then left early in order to watch Mean Girls with my sister Polly which was also rather nice.

Today instead of doing homework me and my family went to the Wade house and had a lovely roast meal and hung around and played scrabble... I came second and lost by 3 points (pretty good as I am lisdexic)

So how was your weekend? I hope they were all lovely!

Valentines day!

As you may have been pretty sad to realise I have not blogged for almost a week, but I have a perfectly acceptable reason for this, I as spending the week in Reading with my wonderful boyfriend Tom Wade. The trip however did not get off to a good start with me managing to get the train in literally the last seconds (the train lady told me off) but I made it and I headed to reading!

I have to say that valentines started from the moment that I went into Toms uni room where he had left me these lovely treats to discover:

Imma lucky girl right?! (these are the closest images I could find to what he got me)

On Valentines day itself Tom and I woke up and made Nutella and Banana Pancakes! Which where truly amazing and tasted great! We then headed into town and did a lot of window shopping, including picking out what colour kitchen-aide we would have as they are an appliance that both Tom and my self quite fancy having! I was in an incredibly happy mood and Tom had to stop me singing out loud in a lot of shops!

We then decided to go to lunch at TGI Friday as we have both never been before and thought it would be cool... Luckily is wasnt too expensive and Tom and I left with our stomachs fit to burst and then did a bit of actual shopping! (well I only bought one thing for myself (to blog about later)

And then we headed home where we made this amazing beef Wellington:
It tasted pretty good for a first time and we where very impressed with it!

Later on we snuggled down to 'our' movie (The Lion King) and then fell asleep listening to Harry Potter which I am very excited to say I think Tom is 'in' to it now :)

What did you all do for valentines day?
I hope you all had a lovely time!

'Super ko wai'. super cute in Japanese

So last night my lovely friend Lewis had his birthday party. The theme was round the world so I and my lovely friend Lauren decided to go as Asian Harajuku-style girls and we looked hawt ;)
As you can see I was a Pokemon lover and Lauren was a Harry Potter/ Hello kitty obsessed fan (she had a cute little Hello Kittie back pack!) I even attached my awesome Pokemon Gameboy colour and made it into a necklace! The top has been in my family ever since pokemon came out and I was incredibly proud with the outfit!
This was mine and Lauren's pose of choice for the night because that is how all Asian girls pose... Thats not even a joke!

I loved my eye make-up for the night which my amazing friend Alice helped me do with the use of liquid eye-liner, dazzle-dust and hairspray to glue it to my face... Unhealthy and bad if you get it in your eyes but effective!
We had lots of people from various country's including:
An Arab
A mexican
An Indian
A traditional Chinese Lady
A cute pair of geeks
A hot american surrounded by Asian people
And an English gal and a native american!

And most hipster photo of the night.....

Being mainstream has become indie, you hipster

Jeeez I really have these words.... Lets start with the definitions of each and then I shall go into why I hate them soo very much

Mainstream: The ideas, attitudes, or activities that are regarded as normal or conventional; the dominant trend in opinion, fashion, or the arts.

Indie: Not belonging to or affiliated with a major record company.

Hipster: a slang term that first appeared in the 1940s, and was revived in the 1990s and 2000s often to describe types of young, recently settled urban middle class adults and older teenagers with interests in non-mainstream fashion and culture, particularly alternative music, indie rock,

And this is why I hate these words to the extent where I just get angry if people use them. For a start Indie come from Indie music... Stuff that people haven't heard of. It does not mean Individual and just because you're wearing something from a shop like Topshop or Urban Outfitters does not mean it's indie... It mean you're mainstream. When someone wears vintage stuff that is not Indie either, it's retro or hipster, just because you dress differently it does not make you indie... A guy in drag for instance would not be called indie, he'd be called a drag queen. If you want to be 'totally indie' buy your clothes from unknown labels, charity shops and car boots or make your own clothes.

Mainstream isnt too bad.,, It's just when people confuse this with other things or when people dont like things because they are mainstream. I mean come on guy! Loads of stuff is 'mainstream'  skinny jeans, leggings, Vans, pants, socks, shoes, converse, my point being saying that you dont like something because it's too mainstream is a ridiculous notion as lots of the things are mainstream!

and lastly hipster... I do  love my use of the word 'Hip' and have come to use it a lot... I guess I just dont like this word when people go a bit crazy with it, like wearing a bin bag or things like that because you want to be the first to. I dont hate the word as much as 'Indie' because being a Hipster is an actual dress style.
